Overview

Join our 6 month learning journey to radically reimagine your relationship to change, alongside others doing the same. A collaboration beyond our binaries, biases & bedrooms.

We believe that the more people we gather to collectively imagine our future, the more people that future will serve. As we swim the tides of change, small & big, slow & fast, welcome & not-so-welcome, we can learn to adapt together and radically reimagine the world we want to live in.

Is it for me?

Is your intention to change the fundamental nature of something? Do you want to dedicate time to co-create the world of your longing in an intersectional & anti-oppressive space?

Are you looking to reawaken your imagination & childlike curiosity, through play, pleasure & joy? Are you deeply engaged with questions about what could liberate us all? This will be, as so beautifully articulated by adrienne maree brown, “a time travel exercise for the heart”.

Do it to

1.

Shape change in your life, community and the world by exploring what is required for social justice

2.

Expand your relationship to change in a holistic, embodied & experiential way

3.

Connect with a multidisciplinary community of changemakers, creatives & activists to weave ideas, experiences & networks

Your Host

We’re Vanessa & Jess, two passionately playful humans who did a Learning Marathon together in 2019. We had such a wild & transformative time that we wanted to team up & go again.

We're an educator, facilitator, learning design multipotentialite duo deeply committed to dismantling intersectional inequities that shape our education system & society. We'll host our rollercoaster ride in dedication to the legacies of queer black feminism, gabrielle roth & adrienne maree brown.

"Vanessa & Jess together create the most fun, supportive & humane space to flourish"

Reuben Christian, Founder of Dream Rehab

Q&As

How do you approach diversity and inclusion?

We believe that placing peer-to-peer relationships at the heart of learning creates huge potential for a more inclusive approach to education. We also know that a very deliberate effort is required to deliver those benefits in reality. A top cited value point for Enrol Yourself participants is that they learnt alongside people they wouldn't otherwise have met and were able to exchange their perspectives, ideas, experiences and more.

We want to welcome and support anyone with a strong intention to take part in our programmes, and aim to ensure that your identity or background will not be a barrier. Whilst we don't have it all figured out yet, we are working on it.

What's your commitment to anti-oppression?

Vanessa & Jess are deeply committed to hosting a Learning Marathon that is intentionally intersectional and inclusive by design & in delivery. This means that this Learning Marathon is specifically anti-oppressive by nature, with a special welcome for people with visible/invisible disabilities, people of colour, working class people, people of faith, people of all ages, & people impacted by cishetero-sexism. They hope to co-produce an intersectional playbook.

What do you mean by radical reimagination?

In this context, radical means to change the fundamental nature of something & reimagining (vs. imagining) reminds us that this is a continual process & practice of engaging with our imagination time & time again, to breathe life into different ways of being. Our imagination is important because, simply put, you can’t create what you haven’t imagined. We intend to re-engage with our imagination as a tool for change in an intentional way, for the collective liberation of us all.

What will the program look like?

Our intention is to do a hybrid-style learning marathon with the major milestone events in London (for example; our kickoff & showcase weekends, & power-up days). We'll meet every Tuesday evening online, for 6 months, where we’ll each host a workshop that explores & expands our individual & collective learning questions in relationship to radically reimagining change. Any in-person events will observe covid 19 regulations so we can be responsible for ourselves, each other, & everyone around us.

What does the application process look like and how much does it cost?

If you’re interested, you can request more info or just jump straight into the application form which you’ll find on this page. Jess & Vanessa will then find a time to speak with you in more detail & let you know if you’ll be joining us. Cost ranges from £750 - £1650 dependent on your circumstances & finances & there are a small number of bursaries which provide a significant discount. We are aware that this is a financially difficult moment for many, so please reach out if you need support.

What types of change can I bring with me and explore with my LQ (learning question)?

Change comes in varying shapes & sizes. Your LQ might pay attention to changes unique to you & your life, or macro changes that affect the masses. Perhaps you’re more intrigued by change itself as a concept, condition or experience & how we get in right relationship with it. It’s up to you! All we ask is that the purpose of your LQ is to get liberated. E.g. Identity, Changemaking/Systems change, Leadership, Pandemic, Family &/or relationships, Decolonisation, Climate, Health & wellbeing.
