Overview

You're told you need to work twice as hard to get just as far. But what if you're still getting left behind? Join us to find a new route to your destination.

Join 11 unapologetically Black people in your corner who know how you feel. Together we'll share our skills, networks and tools to level up in life and redefine what success means to us. We’ll dismantle barriers that stand in the way of you breaking the black ceiling, to live life on your own terms.

Is it for me?

Do you want to be more than what you’re told you can achieve? Are you on a path you don’t want to be on? Are you ready to level up, drop your mask and be your whole self?

This is for you if you feel like you’ve been failed by the system around us, and you want to work with a group of people who can champion and nurture your talent. If you’re looking for a brave space where you’ll get mutual understanding, safety and a place to be unapologetically black, then join us!

Do it to

1.

Accelerate your career - identify experimental/alternative ways of developing a work/life experience that works for you.

2.

Get unstuck - pin down the barriers that stop you achieving the success you want and how to break through them.

3.

Find fulfilment - connect with what you actually want instead of what the world is telling you you should have.

Q&As

How do you approach diversity and inclusion?

We believe that placing peer-to-peer relationships at the heart of learning creates huge potential for a more inclusive approach to education. We also know that a very deliberate effort is required to deliver those benefits in reality. A top cited value point for Enrol Yourself participants is that they learnt alongside people they wouldn't otherwise have met and were able to exchange their perspectives, ideas, experiences and more.

We want to welcome and support anyone with a strong intention to take part in our programmes, and aim to ensure that your identity or background will not be a barrier. Whilst we don't have it all figured out yet, we are working on it.

What does the programme look like?

There’ll be a rhythm of fortnightly workshops on Tuesday evenings, alternating with 1:1 buddy sessions. Participants will take it in turn to lead a workshop exploring fatherhood from different angles, and we will use our skills, experience and resources to support each other in our collective learning. The journey is punctuated by 2 'power up' sessions in which we report back and receive input on our progress, and culminates in a showcase in which we will demonstrate and celebrate our learnings.

How will the blended online/in person work in practice?

It is impossible at this stage to know what COVID restrictions will be in place over the 6 months, however alongside the regular online meetings the hope is to include national and perhaps regional meet ups… the showcase and finish line retreat weekend in particular will aim to be in person. We will aim to remain fluid and adaptive in response to the changing situation, as well as participant’s personal circumstances.

What does the application process look like?

The application process is simple. You can request more information at the bottom of this page, and feel free to reach out to Janice for an informal chat. If this feels like something that calls you then you can sign up via the application form. After the deadline Janice will find a time to speak with you, before offering a limited number of places.

How much does it cost to participate?

Cost ranges from £750 - £1550 dependent on your circumstances and finances. Bursaries and payment plans are available. If you are able, we encourage you to contribute to our higher tier. This makes it possible to offer these lower cost places to those with less income: and makes it possible for you to learn as part of a more diverse group. We understand that this is a financially uncertain time for many, so please reach out if you need support.

Can I take part if I'm mixed race?

Yes! This is a learning marathon is focused on the black experience, which is broad and beautifully varied. If you identify as black and can relate to the theme you and your cohort will be exploring then, please apply or get in touch if you have any questions.
