A Learning Marathon for exploring the past, present, future, or the very concept of time itself.
Online & in your world
4+ per week
Start this adventure with your own question related to 'time'. End it with new champions and connections, a sense of adventure, and a creative response to show the world
In this space, a group of curious minds will come together to bring their time-themed questions to life. Over 4.5 months, this multidisciplinary group will provide each other with the skills, networks, support and encouragement to go further in their quest for answers than they could go alone.
Is it for me?
Why focus on the foundation of society and the universe as we know it? Maybe you're pondering lessons from history, decolonising time, or how we navigate uncertain futures.
You might be an artist, history geek, amateur physicist, activist, and/or sci-fi fan. There’s a topic that you’re itching to give space to in your life - and here’s your chance. You don’t need a particular job/qualification, you just need to be up joining a group of strangers on this journey.
Do it to
Give yourself the permission to boundlessly explore the questions that seem too big or complex to tackle alone.
Indulge in a dedicated space for your learning, development and experimentation - and create something to share from it.
Connect with, learn from and journey with 11 other brilliant people. Share skills, experiences, networks and support.
Edi is a dyspraxic and chronically ill campaigner, organiser, trainer and storyteller. They develop the people and projects that make a radical and progressive world possible.
In their first Learning Marathon in 2018, they explored power and storytelling. They are curious about the relationship between organising and archives, and use creative projects to figure out how we better tell and remember (hi)stories - especially making time for documenting amongst urgency.

How do you approach diversity and inclusion?
We believe that placing peer-to-peer relationships at the heart of learning creates huge potential for a more inclusive approach to education. We also know that a very deliberate effort is required to deliver those benefits in reality. A top cited value point for Enrol Yourself participants is that they learnt alongside people they wouldn't otherwise have met and were able to exchange their perspectives, ideas, experiences and more.
We want to welcome and support anyone with a strong intention to take part in our programmes, and aim to ensure that your identity or background will not be a barrier. Whilst we don't have it all figured out yet, we are working on it.
What does the programme look like?
The Learning Marathon has three phases: Explore, Develop, and Showcase. We'll meetup every 2 weeks online, with every meetup led by a different participant and the skills/learnings they can share, and the questions/support they need from the group. There's plenty more information on this in the info pack!
How much does it cost?
Participation costs are on a sliding scale dependent on your circumstances - ranging from £450 - £1250 in total. There are also a number of bursaries available - including a fully-funded place on this Learning Marathon for a Black woman or non-binary person thanks to HustleCrew. If you want to talk about costs, bursaries, skill-shares or otherwise - please do get in touch. You can find out more in the information pack too.
How are you going to navigate the world of Covid-19?
We don’t know what will happen next year in terms of restrictions, but we will be directed to conduct this that is safe for everyone involved. Online doesn't mean only online! Depending on where the group is based, this may be in person for key moments - Kick-off, Power Up days, and the Finish Line. The fortnightly meetups will be able to be either online or in-person - this will be decided by those leading each session and the feelings and wants of the group.
What is the application process?
Ahead of applying, you can download an information pack and/or get in touch with Edi for a 1-2-1 chat if you have any questions. To be notified as to when applications open, sign up below. When applications open and when you’re ready, there is a short application form for you to fill in. After the deadline, Edi will be in touch with shortlisted applicants to invite them for a short interview, and offer places by the end of February.
Edi, why are you hosting this Learning Marathon?
As a dyspraxic person, I’m told I ‘perceive time and space differently’. We consider time to be objective and linear but it changes, it’s relative. It’s full of paradoxes and complexities. Exploring relationships between history, change, and perceptions of time is vital to our futures. I know first hand that Learning Marathons are beautiful spaces to learn from and grow with other wonderful minds, and I think it’s the perfect format for such an eclectic group to see how our questions connect.
Register your interest with the Host to receive the information pack. You can also request a phone call and some resources to take to your employer if you think they might be able to (partially or fully) sponsor your place on the programme.
Thank you for registering your interest, the host will be in touch!
